North Shoshone Peak and the high ridges of the Shoshone Mountains dominate this 2018 survey of the Great Basin interior. Much of the land is managed within the Toiyabe National Forest, where steep drainages such as Underdown Canyon, Becker Canyon, and Devils Gate Canyon carve through the high-elevation terrain. The map records the presence of vital water sources in this arid environment, including Upper Cole Camp Springs and Lower Cole Camp Spring, which feed into Birchim Cr.
