The narrow neck of Asharoken Beach provides a tenuous connection for residents along Asharoken Ave heading toward Eatons Neck, while the mainland is defined by the heavy infrastructure of the Northport Veterans Hospital and the Powerplant near Crab Meadow.

Genealogists can find numerous local burying grounds including Seidmore Cem, Middleville Cem, and St Philip Neri Cem. The southern portion of the map is dominated by the transit corridor of the Long Island Railroad passing through East Northport, while the eastern boundary near Kings Park is largely preserved within the grounds of Sunken Meadow State Park.
