Old Center sits at the convergence of several rural roads in Panola County, serving as the focal point for a landscape defined by its complex drainage network. The area is dominated by the winding path of the Sabine River, which carves distinctive features into the terrain such as the sharply defined Buzzard Roost Bend. To the southeast, the geography transitions into the northern reaches of the Toledo Bend Reservoir, where the river expands into a broader aquatic system.
