The confluence of three major waterways—the Green River, White River, and Duchesne River—dominates this Uintah County landscape near the settlement of Ouray. This hydrographic junction creates a complex network of wetlands and river bottoms, including the Tia Juana Bottom and Old Charley Wash, much of which is preserved within the National Wildlife Refuge. The terrain transitions from these lush riparian zones to the elevated arid plateaus of Leland Bench and the broad Uinta Valley.
