Targhee National Forest dominates the western landscape of this Teton County quadrangle, where the Big Hole Mountains rise above the agricultural flats of the Teton Basin. The topography is defined by significant elevation changes, from the heights of Grandview Point and Baldy Knoll down into the drainage of Packsaddle Lake. This alpine lake feeds into the N Fork Packsaddle Cr, part of a complex hydrologic network that includes S Fork Packsaddle Cr and Milk Cr, eventually flowing toward the Teton River in the northeast. The transition from the high-altitude forest boundary to the valley floor is marked by geological features like Susies Nipple and Rammell Hollow. The eastern edge of the map shows a more developed road grid, including Poleline Rd and Cutoff Rd, servicing the rural outskirts of the basin.
