Klamath National Forest dominates this section of the Cascade Range, where the hydrology of the High Cascades is on display through numerous named springs and seasonal drainages. High-elevation landmarks like Ball Mtn and Butte Mtn rise above a landscape defined by the upper reaches of the Little Shasta River. The presence of Little Shasta Meadow and Little Shasta Spring marks a vital riparian corridor in an otherwise complex topography of ridges and canyons.
