Eagle Butte anchors the southwestern corner of this West River landscape, where the residential street grid meets the open prairie of the Cheyenne River Reservation. The town's layout is clearly defined by corridors like Dupree St and Washington St, leading toward the local aviation hub at Hunt Field. To the north, the terrain is marked by the prominence of North Eagle Butte and the winding course of Green Grass Cr, which drains the rolling breaks. The presence of Eagle Butte Lake provides a central water feature in an otherwise arid expanse defined by a network of section-line roads such as Co Rd 18 and Co Rd 19. This 2017 survey reflects the modern infrastructure of the tribal headquarters and the surrounding ranching country.
