2023 Map of Paradise

About this map

Paradise and Avon sit at the southern end of the Cache Valley, where the agricultural floor meets the rising peaks of the Bear River Range. This landscape is defined by its complex irrigation network, including the Hyrum Canal, Paradise Canal, and Highline Canal, which divert water from the Little Bear River to support the valley's farms. The transition from the valley floor to the wilderness is abrupt, as the terrain climbs into Cache National Forest and the Wasatch Range. To the north, the Hyrum Reservoir serves as a major water management feature near the edge of Hyrum. Local history is anchored by the Paradise Cem and Avon Cem, while more recent aviation history is noted at the Musselman Airstrip on McKenzie Flat. The map also captures several rugged drainages like Paradise Dry Canyon and McMurdie Hollow, which cut through the surrounding uplands.
