Whale Pass and its surrounding coastal waters are the focal point of this 2017 survey on Prince of Wales Island. Located within the expanse of the Tongass National Forest, the settlement is situated at the intersection of maritime and wilderness transport, marked by the North Whale Seaplane Base. The complex shoreline of the Gulf of Alaska is punctuated by intricate waterways and islands, including the tidal transitions of Whale Passage and Rocky Bay.
