Pinnacle Mtn stands as a central landmark in this high-altitude wilderness where the borders of Park, Stillwater, and Sweet Grass counties converge. This 2020 survey documents the complex drainage systems of the Custer National Forest and Gallatin National Forest, characterized by numerous alpine water bodies like Favonius Lake, Pentad Lake, and Sunken Rock Lake. The landscape is defined by the headwaters of the Wounded Man Cr and the W Fork Stillwater, which carve through a series of peaks including Timberline Mtn and Mosquito Peak.
