Pocochichee Butte and its surrounding landscape define this pocket of Southeastern Montana along the border between Powder River and Carter counties. The terrain is characterized by a series of distinct topographic rises, including the prominent Pocochichee Butte and the smaller Hackett Butte to the northwest. To the south, Saddle Butte rises near the headwaters of Cabin Creek, while the northwestern corner is marked by the unique geology of Honeycomb Hills and Mud Buttes.
