Pocono Pines and the surrounding Monroe County uplands are defined by a sophisticated network of residential lake communities and glacial waterways as they appeared in 2016. Large water bodies such as Lake Naomi and Stillwater Lake anchor established developments like Lake Naomi Estates and Stillwater Lake Estates. The landscape shows a clear transition from the more densely settled village of Pocono Summit in the northeast to the expansive, wooded wetlands of the south, where the headwaters of Tunkhannock Creek and Mud Pond Run begin their descent.
