Malheur National Forest and Whitman National Forest converge in this high-altitude landscape of eastern Oregon, defined by the drainage systems of the Burnt River. The terrain is marked by a complex network of springs, such as Skunk Cabbage Spring and Wallow Spring, which feed into steep canyons like Dooley Gulch and Webb Gulch. The Grant and Baker county line bisects the western portion of the map, following the ridgeline that includes Blue Mountain Summit.
