The town of Polar and the settlement of Elton anchor this Langlade County landscape, defined by a dense network of glacial springs and wetlands. A complex hydrological system is evident through features like Hogelee Spring Number One, Hatton Springs, and Krause Springs, which feed into local waterways such as Deer Cr and Rabe Cr. The terrain is also marked by numerous small bodies of water, including Mueller Lake, Rabe Lake, and the larger Norway Lake to the east.
