Pony Meadows and the surrounding Idaho high country are defined by a network of drainage basins and mountain passes as they appeared in 2011. This territory is primarily managed via the Natl Forest Develop Road 340 Rd and the historic Warren Wagon Rd, which skirt the northern boundaries near Steamboat Summit and Warren Summit. The landscape is a complex system of creek headwaters, including the significant Bear Creek and Steamboat Creek drainages.
