Payette National Forest dominates this high-elevation landscape along the border of Idaho and Valley counties. The topography is defined by the headwaters of numerous drainages, including Steamboat Creek and Warren Creek, which flow through steep gulches and around prominent peaks like Steamboat Summit. The administrative boundary between the McCall Ranger District and the Krassel Ranger District bisects the southern portion of the sheet, cutting through terrain that transitions from dense creek networks to upland clearings.
