Chevelon Canyon meanders deeply through this high-desert portion of Navajo County, defining the drainage patterns that feed into Chevelon Cr. The landscape is dominated by the southern reaches of the Sitgreaves National Forest, where the terrain transitions into a network of dry washes and canyons including Wildcat Canyon and Sandy Draw. Ranching and aviation infrastructure appear in the southeast near the Wisky Ranch/Chevlon Airport, while the surrounding plateau is dotted with numerous water tanks essential for livestock, such as Horse Pasture Tank and Twentyeight Mile Tank.
