Metolius Wild and Scenic River and the high elevations of Green Ridge dominate this section of the Deschutes National Forest in central Oregon. The landscape is defined by a dense network of hydrologic features, from the main channel of the Metolius River to smaller drainages like Prairie Farm Cr and Meadow Creek. The naming of Prairie Farm Spring and Six Creek Spring suggests the vital importance of natural water sources in this high-altitude environment, where much of the terrain is managed for conservation and wilderness protection.
