Lake Chelan anchors the southwestern edge of this high-elevation mountain terrain, where the northern Cascades rise sharply toward the Sawtooth Ridge. The landscape is defined by the massive drainage systems of Prince Creek and its many branches, including the North Fork and East Fork. This area, managed as the Wenatchee National Forest and Okanogan National Forest, remains a significant protected wilderness area.
