Pacific Ocean waters and the maritime gateway of Dixon Entrance dominate this marine-heavy 2021 survey, which documents a critical international boundary area in Southeast Alaska. The map traces the southeastern reach of Clarence Strait, leading toward the open sea. While much of the quadrangle is submerged, the eastern edge captures the extreme coastal boundary of the Tongass National Forest. This remote stretch of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough is defined by its nautical hazards, most notably Hassler Reef, which sits submerged within the northern waters of the strait. The survey is notable for its depiction of the Public Land Survey System grid reaching its terminus at the edge of the Tongass National Forest and the vast expanse of the northern Pacific Ocean.
