About this map

Mining operations and high mountain terrain define this remote section of the Payette National Forest in the late 1960s. The landscape is marked by numerous extraction sites clustered around the central peaks, including the Moscow Mine in the north and the Red Metals Mine and Lotspiech Mine further south. These sites are linked by a network of unimproved routes, such as the Jeep Trail and various pack trails that navigate the steep elevations between Profile Peak and Wilson Peak.
