Grand Teton National Park and Targhee National Forest meet at a high-elevation divide defined by the sharp verticality of the northern Teton Range. The landscape is dominated by a sequence of massive summits, including Ranger Peak, Doane Peak, and Eagles Rest Peak, which rise above deep glacial troughs. These drainages, such as Colter Canyon, Webb Canyon, and Waterfalls Canyon, channel snowmelt into creeks that eventually feed the Snake River system.
