Medicine Bow Mountains define this high-altitude landscape along the border of Larimer and Jackson counties. The area is characterized by a high concentration of alpine lakes and glacial features, including the numbered chain from Rawah Lake Number 1 through Rawah Lake Number 4. A complex network of paths such as the Rawah Trl and McIntyre Lake Trl facilitates movement between these water bodies and significant summits like North Rawah Peak. The eastern edge is defined by the Laramie River corridor and the Rawah and Lower Supply Ditch, which indicate early water management efforts in this wilderness. Spanning both Roosevelt National Forest and Routt National Forest, the map preserves the layout of backcountry resources like Grassy Pass and Rawah Bog as they were managed in the early 21st century.
