Red Plume Mtn and the Lewis and Clark Range dominate this section of the Flathead National Forest, defined by steep drainages and high peaks. The southern boundary is marked by the course of the Middle Fork Flathead River, which receives the waters of numerous named tributaries including Morrison Cr, Twentyfive Mile Cr, and Granite Cr. The landscape is a network of ridges and mountains, including Slippery Bill Mtn, Square Mtn, and the Puzzle Hills.
