Lower Red Lake dominates this northern Minnesota landscape, covering the vast majority of the quadrangle with its open waters. Along the southeastern shoreline, the terrain transitions into a riparian network where the Blackduck River and Hay Creek flow into the lake. This 2010 survey illustrates the remote character of the shoreline, which is primarily accessed by Res Hwy 15 and Res Hwy 18. The map documents the natural confluence of these waterways before they merge into the larger lake system, providing a clear record of the hydrologic boundaries and the sparse transportation infrastructure serving this portion of the Red Lake Reservation area.
