The Yellowstone River cuts a wide path through this portion of Stillwater County, anchoring the small settlement of Reed Point. In this modern 2011 survey, the community serves as a focal point for regional travel and irrigation, supported by the Reed Point Ditch and the Reedpoint Bridge. Historical movement through the river valley is evidenced by the traces of the Bozeman Trl, Overland Trl, and the Yellowstone Stage Trl, which reflect the early transportation corridors used by settlers and travelers through southern Montana.
