Reese River Butte serves as a prominent landmark at the boundary of Lander and Nye counties, overlooking the expansive Reese River Valley. This portion of the Toiyabe National Forest is defined by a network of drainage systems and deep cuts into the mountain range, including Elkhorn Canyon and Devils Gate Canyon. The Reese River and its seasonal tributaries like San Pedro Cr and Washington Creek illustrate the hydrologic patterns of the high desert basin.
