Remlap and Inland Junction sit at the intersection of complex ridge-and-valley topography where Blount, St. Clair, and Jefferson counties meet. These natural corridors have historically dictated the paths of transit and water, with the Blackburn Fork Little Warrior River and Locust Fork draining the northern reaches while Inland Lake provides a significant water feature to the east.

Local history is anchored by several rural burying grounds, including Remlap Cem, Clear Springs Cem, and Lee's Chapel Cem. The settlement pattern follows the narrow valleys, with Clear Springs and Pine Mountain established along the foothills. The presence of Springville Lake Estates and the outskirts of Springville indicate modern residential expansion into the more rolling terrain south of Saint Clair Mtn.
