Remmel Mtn stands as a central landmark within this portion of the Okanogan National Forest, a high-elevation terrain defined by its series of granite peaks and glacial lakes along the international border. The northern edge of the map follows the boundary between the United States and Canada, where Cathedral Peak and Cathedral Pass mark the transition into the backcountry. This 2014 survey documents the path of the Pacific NW National Scenic Trail as it traverses the high country, crossing through Apex Pass and Andrew Pass. The drainage patterns are clearly established by the Chewuch River and several major creeks, including Andrews Cr and Remmel Cr. Numerous high-altitude water bodies, such as Upper Cathedral Lake and Tungsten Lake, are tucked between prominent ridges like Border Ridge and Coleman Ridge. The presence of Wolframite Mtn and Tungsten Cr hints at the mineral history of the region, which has long drawn prospectors to these high slopes.
