Randolph Island sits at the heart of the tidal reaches where the Coquille River winds through the broad Coquille Valley. This 2020 edition documents a landscape defined by its historical settlements and maritime drainage patterns, featuring several small riverfront communities including Riverton, Randolph, and Prosper. The map is particularly valuable for genealogists, as it preserves the locations of several family and community burial grounds, such as Kronenberg Cem, Randolph Cem, Hultin Cem, and Russell Cem, often located on the higher ground of the surrounding ridges. Low-lying marshlands and sloughs, such as Beaver Slough and Powa Slough, dominate the eastern side of the river, while the western side is marked by industrial and transport remnants like the Old Railroad Grade Rd and the Beaver Hill Disposal Site Rd near the rise of Beaver Hill.
