Lake Owyhee defines the central axis of this landscape, its waters filling the deep canyons of eastern Malheur County. The dramatic topography is highlighted by the Rooster Comb ridge and the massive profiles of North Table Mt and South Table Mtn. This terrain is deeply incised by numerous drainages, including Leslie Gulch and Juniper Gulch, which reveal the geological complexity of the High Desert.
