Louisville and Nashville railroad tracks cut a diagonal path through this rural portion of Wilcox County, connecting small rural hubs as they cross a landscape defined by the drainage basins of Pursley Creek and Barren Creek. The area is characterized by a high density of rural houses and small country churches, including St Mary Ch, Pine Level Ch, and Bethel Ch, which served the scattered farming communities of Rosebud, Estelle, and Fatama.
