Sacheen Lake and Davis Lake anchor this 1990s portrait of Pend Oreille County, where the southern reaches of the Kaniksu National Forest meet the drainage of the West Branch Little Spokane River. The landscape is defined by the sharp transition between the upland timber of Grayback Mountain and the agricultural openings of Fertile Valley and Deer Valley. Local infrastructure of the era is remarkably varied, showing a Powerhouse near Calispell Lake, a Substation, and even a Ski Lift on the eastern slopes above the water.
