The Rio Grande forms a winding international boundary along the southwestern edge of this mid-1960s survey, separating the Texas brushlands from Tamaulipas Mexico. The settlement of Salineño sits just above the riverbanks, anchored by the Los Arrierous Cem and a network of gravel extractions. To the northwest, the influence of water management is evident at Falcon Reservoir and the community of Falcon Heights.
