2011 Map of Sanford

USGS Topo · Published 2011

About this map

Sanford and the surrounding Stewart County countryside are defined by a dense network of watercourses and winding rural roads. The landscape is carved by the extensive tributaries of Hodchodkee Creek, which winds through the central and western portions of the quadrangle, joined by Bladen Creek and Wolf Creek. These drainages created the need for local crossings such as Ray Bridge and Lawson Bridge, which served as vital connectors for the agricultural community. Toward the south, the terrain levels slightly near Union and Sugar Hill, where small water bodies like Philps Pond and Pearces Pond dot the map.
