Pine Mountain Club serves as a central settlement within the high-elevation terrain of the Los Padres National Forest, situated along the border of Kern and Ventura counties. This 2018 survey captures the intricate network of mountain residential roads, such as San Moritz Dr and Woodland Dr, contrasted against the massive geologic presence of the San Andreas Fault which cuts across the northern ridges. The landscape is defined by a series of prominent peaks and ridgelines including Mt Pinos, Sawmill Mtn, and Cerro Noroeste, marking the transition between the San Emigdio Mountains and the northern canyons. In the southern reaches of the map, the headwaters of the N Fork Lockwood Cr and Middle Fork Lockwood Cr flow toward Lockwood Valley, while the high country provides essential water sources like Mesa Spring and Lilly Meadows. This documentation of the Transverse Ranges also shows the northernmost reach of Edwards AFB land on the shoulder of Mount Pinos.
