2023 Map of Seul Choix Point

USGS Topo · Published 2023

About this map

Seul Choix Point extends into the cold waters of northern Lake Michigan, defining a coastline of rocky harbors and sweeping bays. This peninsula is characterized by its maritime geography, protecting Goudreau Harbor to the west and Seul Choix Bay to the east. Inland, the landscape transitions into a complex system of wetlands and inland lakes, including the large McDonald Lake and the smaller Shuberts Lake. The drainage network is defined by Bulldog Creek and the Milakokia River, the latter featuring Stone Rapids near the northern boundary. Transportation is limited to a sparse grid of local roads such as Port Inland Rd and John Goudreau Rd, reflecting the remote coastal character of Schoolcraft County's southern edge. The map captures the interface between the Great Lakes shoreline and the dense forest and marsh systems of the Upper Peninsula.
