Malheur National Forest dominates the high-elevation terrain of Grant County, where the topography transitions between prominent summits and drainage basins. The landscape is defined by its verticality, centered around the eponymous Sheep Ridge and the western height of Rudio Mtn. These peaks are separated by a network of seasonal and perennial waters, including the northward-flowing Rudio Cr and the eastern Cottonwood Cr.
