Lake Powell dominates the southeastern topography of this 1985 survey, its waters reaching deep into the canyons at a pool elevation of 3,700 feet. The map highlights the rugged interaction between the high plateau surfaces and the flooded drainages of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Significant terrain features like Sit Down Bench and West Sit Down Bench are shown in relief against the winding fingers of Last Chance Bay. On the northern and western margins, the landscape rises into the Burning Hills and is carved by a network of dry passages including Croton Canyon and Little Valley Canyon. Notable human infrastructure is sparse, limited to a few scattered 4WD Trails and the Point of the Mtn Tank, illustrating the isolation of the Grand Bench region during the late twentieth century.
