Antelope Valley forms a distinct north-south corridor through this portion of Colusa County, framed by the prominent Logan Ridge and the geological narrows of the Golden Gate. The small community of Sites is the central hub of this landscape, situated where the Sites-Lodoga Road meets the foothills. The area's agricultural and ranching foundations are evident through scattered homesteads and specialized features like Mills Orchards and Swifts Stone Corral.

Water management and natural hydrology define much of the valley floor, from the unusual Salt Lake in the north to the branching networks of Funks Creek and Stone Corral Creek.
