Alum Cr and its various tributaries, including Price Cr and Spicer Cr, carve through the Central Texas landscape just north of Smithville. This 2012 survey documents a transition from rural ranch land to residential development, with numerous named roads such as Schwantz Ranch Rd and Dube Ln winding through the cedar-covered hills. A significant piece of local heritage is preserved at Dixon Cem, located near the intersection of Co Rd 163 and Teka Ln.
