Capitol Reef National Park occupies the southwestern quadrant of this 2014 survey, where the high plateaus of Sevier Co drop toward the expansive Last Chance Desert. This high-desert landscape is defined by its dramatic geologic formations, most notably the namesake Solomons Temple, a distinct peak standing near the center of the sheet. The terrain is marked by significant elevation changes between massive flats like Jones Bench and Rock Springs Bench, which are dissected by seasonal drainages such as Last Chance Wash and Temple Wash.
