The Lost River Range defines the southwestern corner of this Idaho landscape, where the summit of Spring Hill rises within the boundaries of the Challis National Forest. To the northeast, the terrain levels into the broad Pahsimeroi Valley, an area characterized by the winding path of the Pahsimeroi River. This 2024 survey documents a network of high-altitude access routes, including the Donkey Hills Rd and Nat For Dev Rd 118, which connect the valley floor to the timbered slopes. Notable watercourses such as Burnt Creek and Long Creek drain the eastern ridges, while the Carlson Lake Trl offers a trace of backcountry recreation within the national forest. The map captures the specialized geography of Custer County, highlighting the transition from river bottomlands to the alpine peaks of the central Idaho interior.
