Squam Lake dominates the southern landscape of this New Hampshire survey, where the jagged shoreline creates numerous inlets like Squaw Cove and Rattlesnake Cove. Along the water, established summer retreats such as Rockywold and Deephaven sit near The Rattlesnakes hills, marking a long-standing recreation economy. To the north, the land rises into the White Mountain National Forest, where the Sandwich Range and Sandwich Mountains form a wall of granite peaks including Mt Weetamoo, Mt Squam, and Mt Morgan.
