Toiyabe National Forest lands dominate this high-desert landscape in central Nevada, where the drainage systems of the Monitor Range and Red Mountains meet the northern edge of the Little Fish Lake Valley. The terrain is defined by a network of intermittent waterways, including the namesake Stargo Cr and its headwaters at Stargo Spring, which carve through the high elevations towards the valley floor. To the southwest, the curiously named Miniature Grand Canyon suggests a localized area of significant erosion or distinct geological formation along E Dobbin Cr. This modern survey illustrates the remote character of the region, where land management boundaries intersect with natural features like Savory Cr and the broad alluvial reaches of Sevenmile Wash.
