The Canadian River cuts a wide, braided path through this portion of eastern Oklahoma, serving as the natural boundary between Muskogee Co and Haskell Co. The landscape is defined by the river’s extensive wetlands and its many tributaries, including Taloka Creek and Kings Creek. Near the southern edge, the community of Whitefield and the western outskirts of Stigler show the intersection of local commerce and agriculture.
