Farrall and the surrounding high country of Crook County are defined by the complex topography of the Black Hills National Forest. The landscape is dominated by the Bear Lodge Mountains in the northwest and distinctive summits such as Sugarloaf Mtn, Skunk Peak, and Sheep Mtn. A network of forest service roads, including the Taylor's Eastward Co Rd and various branches of Middle Redwater Br 2A, provide access through the dense contour lines and drainage systems.
