Tracy Arm carves deeply through the glaciated terrain of this coastal Alaskan landscape, serving as the dominant geographic feature within the Tongass National Forest. The water-heavy environment is defined by steep elevation changes and high-altitude lakes, including Upper Sweetheart Lake in the north and the descriptively named Icefall Lake to the south. Sweetheart Cr drains the upper basin, illustrating the drainage patterns that characterize the Juneau City and Borough and Hoonah-Angoon Census Area boundary. This 2021 survey reflects the modern shoreline of the arm, a crucial reference for maritime navigation and wilderness studies in Southeast Alaska.
