Gates of the Arctic National Park encompasses the vast majority of this 2016 survey, representing a landscape where wilderness preservation is the primary land use. The terrain is defined by the high-elevation drainages of the Brooks Range, specifically where Easter Cr winds through steep topographic contours. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, Natat Lake sits at the base of these ridges, providing a rare permanent water body in a region of extreme vertical relief. This map, produced by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Alaska Dept. of Transportation, documents the precise boundaries of Township and Range lines including t30n r24e and t29n r24e, which serve as the only formal human-imposed structure on an otherwise primitive landscape.
