The high mountain Divide between the Flathead National Forest and the Kootenai National Forest defines this landscape in Northwest Montana. This 1963 survey, which was updated with 1979 aerial photography, documents the remote drainage systems of Sylvia Lake and the various tributaries feeding into the Salish Mountains. The boundary between Lincoln Co and Flathead Co runs directly through the center of this terrain, crossing significant peaks such as Mount Conner and Sanders Mountain.
